Todd Emerson
With nearly over 30 years of construction experience, Todd began his career as an investor with a custom luxury home developer in the Birmingham/Bloomfield area of southeastern Michigan. In 1996, he founded Sterling Development Corporation, growing it into a company known for excellence in new custom luxury homes, additions, and renovations.
With over 150 completed projects, Todd’s vision continues to drive the company’s success -consistently meeting sales and service goals and building a loyal, ever-growing client base rooted primarily in referrals.
Marc Alexander
Marc brings over three decades of cross-industry expertise to his role at Sterling Development Corporation. After earning his Mechanical Engineering degree from Lawrence Technological University in 1989, he spent 25 years in the automotive industry building a strong foundation in process improvement, project management, and business development. He became a licensed builder in 2006 and has since built, remodeled, and flipped numerous investment properties. Marc joined Sterling as a partner in 2014 and has been instrumental in developing the company’s operational infrastructure ever since – driving improvements in process design and production management that continue to fuel Sterling’s growth.
Alice Shook
With 23 years in the construction industry, Alice has become the kind of team member every project depends on, even if her work often happens behind the scenes. She builds and distributes the agenda for weekly meetings, keeps project schedules on track, and manages punch lists with a level of precision that keeps everyone accountable. More than anything, Alice is committed to communication – making sure information flows clearly and consistently across the team. That dedication has made her an essential part of how projects get done, from the ground up.
Lisa Lepkowski
With six years at Sterling and prior experience at a commercial construction contractor, Lisa plays a central role in project coordination and management. She works directly with clients, trades, and suppliers to ensure schedules and budgets remain accurate and on track, partnering closely with project superintendents to keep every phase of construction running efficiently. Her background and attention to detail make her a trusted point of contact throughout the life of each project.
Michelle Duquette
Michelle brings 25 years of specialized Florida project management and design experience, plus over 30 years in construction overall. Her deep ties to Florida’s custom home building and commercial construction community have shaped her reputation for handling complex, detail-driven projects with precision. Skilled in both construction management and interior design, Michelle proactively identifies risks and keeps projects on time and on budget. She’s known for strong relationships with Owners, Architects, Engineers, and Designers – and for delivering results. Michelle leads our Florida operations, managing renovations, additions, and new home construction.
Joe Dimeck
Joe brings a wealth of experience to his role at Sterling Custom Homes, having spent 14 years with the company and over 30 years in the construction industry. In his role, he is responsible for coordinating and overseeing all aspects of the construction site, from managing subcontractors and timelines to ensuring day-to-day operations run without interruption. Joe’s decades of hands-on experience give him a comprehensive understanding of the building process, allowing him to anticipate challenges and keep projects moving efficiently toward completion. Dan Salo
Dan brings a wealth of valuable experience to the Sterling team, having retired from the Detroit Police Department after 25 years of dedicated service. Throughout his career in law enforcement, Dan developed excellent communication and organizational skills – abilities that translate seamlessly into his role at Sterling. His disciplined approach and steady, reliable presence make him a strong addition to the team.
Kevin Clausen
Kevin brings more than 30 years of luxury construction and remodeling experience to Sterling Custom Homes. A licensed Florida Residential Contractor, he’s known for his hands-on leadership and deep understanding of the Southwest Florida luxury home market. His approach combines technical expertise with genuine attention to detail, ensuring every project reflects the quality, and craftsmanship clients expect. Kaitlyn Czinski
Kaitlyn has been a member of the Sterling team for 5 years and brings with her over 10 years of design experience. She is proficient in a wide range of design software, including AutoCAD, PowerPoint, SketchUp, Chief Architect, and Photoshop, which she uses to develop functional floor plans, detailed 3-D renderings, and custom millwork designs tailored to each project. Kaitlyn takes pride in the thoughtful, detail-oriented approach she brings to every design, from initial concept through final execution.
Laura Emerson
Laura is an interior design assistant with two years of industry experience and a degree in Interior Design from Indiana University.
